Epiphany Joy
Breakfast at my motherâs house was better than I expected and made me realize I missed my family. I wasnât planning on moving back, but it did have me considering visiting. For the remainder of my visit, Avory stayed upstairs in her room and the rest of us just chilled, talked, and played games. I enjoyed myself so much that I went back to my room and passed straight out, which was why I was late getting to Kaciee and Nadiaâs house for dinner; my ass ended up oversleeping.
When I entered their house, I expected some kind of bullshit since Kaciee didnât know about Karisma. But what I never expected was to walk in and see Ace, especially not with some damn woman. Seeing him standing near some strange woman had me hot and jealous. I felt territorial over him, even though he wasnât mine. The moment Ace asked was Karisma his, I felt the hate and envy radiating from her glare. I was hoping and praying that bitch said something stupid or jumped sideways so I could have a reason to hit her ass.
âUm, did I miss something here? How the hell could Karisma be your baby when this is yâall first time meeting, right?â Nadia confusedly asked.
âHold up! Fuck all that! You knew Epiphany had a fucking baby and didnât tell me?â Kaciee frowned.
What was supposed to be a peaceful and friendly dinner was turning into a disaster! The whole purpose of this dinner was to introduce Ace and I to one another and to celebrate us becoming a family. But instead, we were arguing and bumping heads. I understood that there were a lot of questions that needed answering, but this wasnât the kind of energy I wanted around my daughter. Plus, I wasnât comfortable with discussing my business in front of Aceâs bitch. She didnât know me, and I didnât know her, so she didnât need to be in my business.
âLook, can we all just calm down, sit down, and talk like adults? All this arguing isnât good for Karisma. She can sense the energy, and it will make her fussy,â I suggested.
Aceâs bitch took a step up by him and grabbed his hand. âYeah, sheâs right, you guys. This is something that needs to be discussed in a civilized manner. Maybe this is something that should be talked about in the living room.â
I frowned as I looked her up and down in disgust. Everything that she said was right, but her input wasnât even needed. Unless she was his wife, then she shouldnât even be talking right now. Hell, even if she was his wife, she still needed to shut her mouth because this had nothing to do with her. Last I checked, she didnât play any part in how this child was created, and she wasnât a part of my inner circle. Iâd never needed a co-signer before, and I damn sure didnât need one today.
âBitch, who was talking to you? Last I
